It depends on the kind of guitar you're looking for. They can range in price anywhere from about $100 to $1500 (maybe more). Call a guitar center,or stop in to ask some questions, the people that work there should be able to help you with what you need.

Good luck!

You can buy acoustic guitars for like $50 brand new, but they will be plywood and made in China or Indonesia and be very poor quality. Or you can spend as much $10,000 and buy a guitar custom hand made by small shops like Olsen, Huss and Dalton or Collings.

The majority of consumer level guitars falls somewhere in between. Most popular are stuff like Taylor and Martin, who both offer guitars from $500 to $20,000 but whose most popular stuff lies in the $2000 range. Smaller import companies like Takamine sell guitars for around $1000 or so on average. Guild now imports guitars and their stuff can be as low as $700 or up to the $2000 range. Gibson's regular acoustics go from maybe $1800 - $3000. Cheaper companies like Seagull can range from $150 - $300. Then there's Tacoma, Ovation, Epiphone, Larrivee, etc. So basically there's no simple answer.
