Is it wise to get a nursing bra now or will my breasts get bigger after the birth which would require a bigger nursing bra or should I just get a regular bra or sports now and wait on the nursing bra til close to birth?

A few days after your baby is born, your milk will "come in." Your body will, for a few days, produce enough milk to feed 2 or 3 or 4 babies! Do NOT pump or express any of the extra milk for temporary relief! The more you take out -- whether by your baby nursing, or through pumping, the more your body will make. I'm rather large breasted, and there were no bras large enough during this very short period. Anyway, the size that your breasts are LATE in pregnancy will be pretty close to the size they will be after the initial "engorgement" period.

Please read "The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding" for a great manual on the subject, or check out La Leche League!

Definitely buy a regular comfortable bra for now and wait until you give birth to get the nursing bra because your breasts will definitely become bigger after birth. The 3rd day is the worst-they become very tender and HUGE. If you got stretch marks and you can see your veins, they will only get worse. Good luck- but def. wait.

Nursing bras tend to not be so harsh on nipples. But I do agree that the breast size is going to change drasticly I went from an A cup to a DD while nursing. But I bought an A cup nursing bra just for comfort issues. Like I said they are made of different matrial and dont "rub" your nipples the wrong way. Best of luck to you on breast feeding its a wanderful expierience!!!

You have to wait 'til your breasts get bigger 'cause then you'll get the perfect fit. Or you can just get a nursing bra one cup size larger than the ones you wear now - they should fit well when you breastmilk.

I agree...wait. I couldn't get my Ni**ple in my pre pregnancy bras. I got HUGE much larger than normal. But, to be safe I advise that you wait.

Also, consider nursing pads. I purchased wash/reuseable fabric ones from Sears and LOVED them. The paper ones drew too much moisture from my skin and I got chapped. NOT FUN.

Congrats on your 3rd!

i would wait until my 9th month......
or even until right after birth when your milk comes in......

of course bra shopping will be the last thing on your mind once you have a newborn......so...it might just be easier to do it in your 9th month....

wait until after your milk comes in that's the only time you can be sure it will fit right.
