I think it would be more accurate to focus on the spread of Islam in America, which actually dates back to Muslims being brought over from the slave trade, than politicaly charged events in the media. Of all the things listed in the previous post, I would say only 9/11 and the Gulf War are relevent because the former caused a lot of Americans to seek knowledge about Islam which actually increased the conversion rate significantly while the latter was important because many Gulf War soldiers became Muslims.

The most major area of focus is that of the Muslim immigrants from the 1960's and on to this current generation. African American nationalist movements like the Nation of Islam helped bring Islam in name, which in turn led many adherants of that group to true Islam. Also, look at some of the Muslim scholars in America such as Hamza Yusuf and Imam Siraj Wihaj.

I'm sure you will write a much better article if you focus on the actual factors that contributed to the spread of Islam in America rather than the hackneyed focus of the media.

Good luck :)

In a favorable or detrimental way. regrettably, the "u . s . of Islam" do no longer mirror the genuine teachings of Muhammad. it truly is asserted because of the fact they have the style of enormous presence in this u . s . and can desire to truly make a favorable effect of the inventive and prescient of Islam. Leaders like Louis Pharakon(uncertain on the spelling) basically alienate the final public of the races and hence has solid a "dark" shadow on an exceptionally alluring faith. i'm certainly a Christian, yet understand the genuine believers of Islam and harbor no sick feeling in the direction of them. in fact, we ll worship the comparable God!!
