Future habits begin at very early ages. By him telling the daughter that if she misses the bus she gets out of going to school she may develop a bad habit of missing the bus on purpose. Trust your instincts and take her to school if she misses the bus in the future, THAT is not a reason to miss school.

This is crazy its what normal parents do when the child misses the bus unless the parents do not have transportation if thats the case the child misses school,it isnt good for her to miss school just cause she missed the bus unless there isnt a way to get her to school.

You are definetly in the right. I know she is still little and just starting school, but this is the beginning of learning responsibility. She has to learn that she must attend school everyday. Why your hubby acted the way he did I could not say, but stick to your guns and raise a responsible child.

Well your hubby's remark is an idiotic one. You take her to school, now you must teach her to wake up 1hr ahead of schedule for 2 weeks and that will teach her not miss the bus. You gotta get your kid where it hurts by taking away 1hr from his/her beauty sleep.

school is important, and when u were a kid if your dad said "if you miss the bus you don't go to school" don't you think you would make it a point to miss school, my son is four and i know he would , your husband needs to let you do your job as a mom

has he figured she dont want to go ? or is he mad cause theres not a reel good reason for missen so he's mad and figures she can make it on the bus shouldnt be an excuse and to him its a waist of gas if ya have to take. ? I have a daughter left at home now all others moved out and to me she misses and I am upset cause shouldnt be a reason for it,

I guess he wants her to be responsible. Depending on her age, I'd say you should encourage her to be up early. YOU need to be a mother to her and get up and get her ready; breakfast, clothes, books, homework. If she's a teenager, she should be doing this herself. Get the kid an alarm clock and encourage her to get up on her own and YOU can get up too. I guess Dad was pis*ed cause YOU allowed her to miss the bus. It's not about the kid. it's about you. Someone has to be the parent. Godblessya, honey!

your husband needs to grow up- it is your responsibility as parents to make sure she gets to school if she is physically able(not sick). If you offered to take her and he was able to stay home as if nothing happened he is out of line as a parent!
