Emotionally--25 years ago after a 7 year relationship I got dumped really badly...broke my heart and deliberately meant to........
Physically---2 years ago I became critically ill virtually overnight..all my major organs started failing..nobody knew why...spent a long time in hospital..with more tubes in me that the city waterworks department...took a long time to get better...my new partner of 20 years..came and sat with me everyday until I recovered...there were times when I didn't know who/where I was...It was pretty scary...they told me that I needed surgery but they didn't think I'd survive it...I was prepared that I was dying...but it didn't happen...I try to live everyday as a gift now. How are you SB?

I became a second-class citizen in my own country of Canada.
Although English is the majority official language of Canada, in the province of Quebec (majority French-speaking) its unrestricted use was made illegal by ethnocentric French laws passed in the 1970's.
These laws have caused about 400,000 English-speaking Canadians to leave their home province to escape the systemic discrimination and harassment that is aimed against them by Quebec's French majority on a daily basis.
Quebec has French "language" police that go around covering the English language on street signs and commercial enterprises.
Quebec (similar to an American state) considers itself to be a distinct "Nation" and its French population, despite losing two referendums to separate, continues on its quest to break away from the rest of Canada.
Can Americans ever imagine one of your states, say Vermont, declaring itself as a separate nation from the USA and being allowed to exercise jurisdiction in the Federal domain of Immigration?
This is the sad political reality in Canada today. All is not well in the Great White North!

I don't dwell on negatives, but the worst thing that I did was live with a man who was 26 years my senior. We were together for 7 years.
If everyone hung their problems on a clothes line and you had a chance to pick, you'd probably pick your own.
My girlfriend was in New York City on Broadway and witnessed her best friend stabbed to death by muggers for her little pocketbook.
