When I went to dances when I was a 7th-8th grader, I usually wore a tank-top and jeans. It'll keep you cool while you dance, and you'll still look nice. As for hair-styles, I would definitely not recommend wearing it down if your hair's longer cuz if you dance, it'll go everywhere and get all tangly (especially if you're sweating!). It may sound casual, but a pony-tail or somehow pulling your hair back-french braids are really pretty- will be the most convenient way to fix your hair. Hope you have fun at the dance!

in our school we don't wear a dress
you should wear a miniskirt/jeans with a really cute top
most schools don't allow spaghettis so wear a tank or a thin tee
ive been to a lot of dances and the yare really fun
make sure you go to all of them
for a hairstyle do that 1/2 up, 1/2 down thing it's really pretty and cute

When I go to dances, I just go with what I wore that day to school or whatever. You have to follow the dress code at my school so you can't go in all slutty.
But I do know girls who do change, maybe into a casual skirt, absolutely NOTHING fancy or someone like me will laugh and throw things at you (the whole reason I go to dances), but you can do your hair. That's the main thing you should spend your time on getting ready. Curl it, straighten it, whatever.

If you wanna be REALLY cool, don't go. School dances are lame. Have a house party or something else that night, it'll make you seem really cool, like you don't care about lame school dances.
**if you're gonna go, just wear like jeans and a nicer shirt, (maybe a tank top or something?) same as you would wear every other day, and wear your hair down or just in a ponytail, but doin't make it look like you tried to hard. That's lame.
