Is it illegal to copy and paste song lyrics for my own use, like to sing along the song?

It's legal as long as you legally own the song...

You must have a copy right towards that song or buy it from some source to make it legal if not then its not

yep, many lyrics sites are now getting sued. Because by making lyrics available to someone who otherwise would have had to buy an album you are cheating the band out of potential money. (I never said the reason was good, but its the truth)

I think it would only be illegal if you tried to say you wrote the music, but other than, that I don't see a problem with it.

Just download it from somewhere cheap like itunes or walmart music. Then you won't have to worry about copyright infringement.

There are some really hinky copyright laws out there. Always read about them first.

As long as you are not performing the song for public use or profit, it is not illegal.

It's usually in with the disc. I wouldn't think so. You're not gonna sell it or distribute it.

i don't believe it's illegal as long as you don't use it on your personal website without getting permission from the author.

No it would fall under fair use... You just cannot republish them.

But then again fair-use is not a law, it is a courtesy that is open to legal interpretation.
