I wonder why ppl bother to take the time to answer a question with an "I don't know" and then refer to something that has nothing to do with the origanal question. Can anyone tell me why?

I've wondered the same thing. I guess people are trying to earn 2 points. But I hate when people ask a question and then people are mean about it when they answer. It's just like, if you're not gunna have a good answer then don't even bother with your two sense. But I guess everyone just wants their points.

Because some people seem to be obsessed with getting points and more points and advancing in level, as if this was some kind of role-playing game where being higher level really matters.

They probably just want the points. This yahoo answers thing is really weird, and addicting. So, are you going to be upset when somebody answers "I don't know" to your question? Haha. I would be.
