I have not tinted windows for many years, but here is how I did it.

Get a single edge razor blade and carefully start peeling the film in one corner. It may or may not peel off in big pieces. When the film is removed the glue will stay on your window. Take a spray bottle full of water and mix in 6 or 7 drops of dishwashing detergent. Spray the old glue all over. Take the razor blade and shave the wet glue off the window. Keep the glue wet enough to where it looks like a gel when you scrape it off. Make sure you change razor blades often. You CANNOT use this procedure on a window with defrost lines on it. You will damage the defrost. Check with your local window tint shop on how they remove film on a defrosted window. I know many shops used to use a brillo pad or something like it.

there are some chemicals available that can help loosen tint film on a window, but its easiest to be gentle with a razor blade and scrape it off carefully in my experience

It's a pain in the a$$.

The plastic film will tear in long pointed pieces.
The glue will not scrape off well.
And, if you use remover stuff, it makes a big mess.

Prepare yourself for quite a project.
