That is quite a lot to put on early in pregnancy, but have you been hungrier than usual and eating a little more, or have you been eating different things to your usual diet? Maybe you've been less active because you're pregnant.
I don't think it's to worry about, but speak to your midwife if you are concerned. They are a mine of information!

What was your starting weight? My starting weight was 103 pounds. Very under weight. I am now 37 weeks preg. I have gained a total of 45 pounds now. During my 6th and 7th month I gained around 20 pounds. My doctor said it was normal for me becuase I was so under weight.
Other cause could be due to holding in more water than normal. Are you swelling?
My guess is that your weight gain is no big deal if your are underweight. But, no matter what tell your doctor at your next visit. They are going to want to make a not of it and keep watching.
Don't worry about weight gain. You will slow down evenentually.

you are gaining weight because you are pregnant! There might be set guidelines on how much a woman should gain, but I know plenty of women that have gained well more than that and have had a happy healthy pregnancy, and healthy babies.

Dont worry about your weight gain unless your doctor specifically tells you to do so. And dont go on a diet, as you may decrease the nutrients your baby gets.

happy pregnancy!

you should be having your glucose test any time now to rule out gestational diabetes. excessive weight gain is a sign and with gestational diabetes and it could make your baby too large. you need to watch what you eat and try portion control. your doctor will be able to help you set up a good diet for the remainder of your pregnancy or at least refer you to a nutritionist. i did not have gestational diabeted with either of my children and i gained 55 lbs with each of them. i think every woman is different so i bet there is nothing wrong.

you should have your doctor check you for gestational diabetes this is usually a reason for weight gain or you may have high blood pressure brought on by the pregancy both are easily controled.

Have you talked to your doctor? My friend gained 50 pounds when she was pregnant. Just talk to your doctor and see what he says.

You need to talk to your doctor, sweetie, and not ask people on Yahoo who know NOTHING! I am a nurse and would never even attempt to guide you!

Could be multiple babies or you are eating too much. Eating for two doesnt literally mean that.
