I have been researching this very same topic, and I believe the answer lies in the same way you get him on a plane. The A-Team used to make B.A. have a "Night Night". I suppose in this unconcious state, jewel theft would also be possible.
How to make B.A. go in Night Night mode:
1: Give him drugged milk
2: hit him with a 2 by 4
3: inject him with drugs
