They are actually no relation to you whatever but you can call them cousins if it helps.

If your aunt is your mother's or your father's sister and she has a kid then that is your cousin. If she then marries a guy who already has a kid, then that is your cousin's step brother or sister (and you can call them your step-cousin if you like, but it doesn't make you related in any way). Now, if your aunt has another child by this guy, then that is your cousin and your other cousin's HALF-brother or sister. The test is "Do we have two [real] grandparents the same?" If you do, then they are 1st cousins.

What matters is if you get on with them and they with you ... if so, then go with it! Calling them cousins will make them feel part of the family ... sometimes not easy for kids who are 'dragged' into a new family and don't feel they quite belong.

They aren't blood related to you at all. But I think they would be your second-step-cousins... something like that. Just call them by their names!!

I have the same problem. If they are relatives I like, I just call them all cousins. Who's gonna know or care what our EXACT blood relationship is?

It doesn't really mater what label you put on it, or weather you share blood. The people I consider most like family are not actually related to me at all, be it by blood or marriage, they are just people who have always been there form my family and have really proven themselves to be good friends.

You can have step-step cousins through your step cousin... they are just friends to you if you are their friend...
