Inference — a : the act of passing from one proposition, statement, or judgment considered as true to another whose truth is believed to follow from that of the former b : the act of passing from statistical sample data to generalizations (as of the value of population parameters) usually with calculated degrees of certainty

The second is an inference — a conclusion based on a preivous truth.

Inference is an impression that you get of what somebody means from a statement. Not very well explained, but look it up in a dictionary or ask jeeves what inference means....

#2 is an inference. You don't know for a fact she is a model. You are inferring that she is.
