All answers correct so far. However some additional info. In California you cannot get the Diesel version. The EPA rated mileage is 16 MPG Highway for the gas powered version.

Gasoline...I was at the Hummer Plant last week. I'm not sure if they've got a diesel.

it has a 6.0 liter v8 gas engine there is no diesel option for the h2 or the h3. the h1 has the little sissy diesel or the h1 alpha has the 6.6 litre duramax diesel ohh yeah
