6 years ago I was on my honeymoon at the Sheridan Downtown and as I was walking to the restroom I slipped on a puddle from a ceiling leak and fell straight on my tail bone. I was young and it was late and I didn't hurt, just was startled. So I told my husband that I felt fine and we were happy that the hotel was willing to refund our money and gave us free breakfast and dry cleaned my wedding dress( which I pulled of the shower as I slipped). Well, six months later I was getting ready to go to breakfast downtown and was taking a shower when I felt this little electric pain running down my back and side. I did't think anything about it, only that it was an odd feeling. I stepped out a moment later and pulled my hair back in a towel wrap and as I came up I noticed a piercing pain and was unable to bend or move to the left or right or front...so my mom laid me down on the bed and then 1 and 2 hours went by and I still could not move. I was crying because I thought I was paralyzed. So she called the ambulance and they took me to the hospital, stuck me with morphene and released me with a diagnosis of a slipped disk. I was bed ridden for 2 weeks and could not move. Then as the years went by I walked crooked and this last 2 years ago it got soo bad that I could not even sleep with my husband in the bed, I had to prop my legs up on the coach. So I finally went to the spinal doctor and they did a Laminectomy on me, which they take the bone away from the disk to releave pressure. And I have to say to this day I do not feel anymore pain from my back.

Moral of these stories... If you are injured ANYWHERE, at work, on vacation, in the mall, on your honeymoon, walking down the street... ALWAYS fill out an injury report in the event that there may be future reprocussions. If you can only file an injury report with the local police department, or the security department where you were injured, do it, just so it's on record. And get a copy of the report.
