Something to tie your hair with to keep it out of your face.

I also bring a towel to my dance practices. And drinking water.

Nah, if I'm correct tutus are only worn during performances, you need a plain leotard, plain colored tights, plain colored shoes. I would suggest a black or pink leotard, black or pink or white tights, and then black or pink or white shoes. And some schools require your hair to be pulled back, but it's best if you have it tight in a bun, because even pony tails are difficult when you do things like turn. Then, if you ever get cold in the winter or fall, you could just get a fitted long sleeve shirt. Also, you might want a skirt or fitted shorts. Just never wear a baggy shirt or shorts, because some schools don't allow those either. Then, when you go there, you might just want pants or a tee shirt or jacket to put on and off for when you leave. Good luck, and have fun!

I have been doing ballet for many many years and I am on pointe now. All you need is a black leotard, pink tights, ballet slippers, and optional wrap around skirt. You also should know what the positions are... just first, second, and fifth are good enough. Don't worry you will learn everything you need to know when you get there.

i've been dancing for many years now, and basically all you need to have prepared for dance is the leotard, tights, shoes, and a skirt or shorts which are optional. And may i recommend placing your hair away for your face like in a bun or something because it will get in your way if it's near your face. don't forget to smile and have fun :]

It really depends on the environment in which you'll be taking your classes.
Some studios are very strict, and some are more relaxed.

I go to a very strict studio, and here are some things I would suggest:
-hair pins, ponytail holders, and hairspray- to put your hair in a bun
-rock rosin, if your studio doesn't supply it or doesn't have marley floors
-warm-up clothes, like legwarmers, dance sweaters, etc.

Oh, you'll probably need some sort of painkiller, like Advil or something, for those inevitable sore muscles!

Best of luck!

your studio should have guidlines on what to wear, check these. if not, wear a leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes, and most definitly pull your hair back. you can find all these in a dance shop, and they can help you some more, as most of them really know what they are doing! good luck :)

something to tie your hair back with. It's a pain in the butt to have hair in your face.

an open mind and the desire to work hard!

Best of luck to you!

no, not really. You learn a lot when you get there and you also need to practice a lot.
