It's pretty much common knowledge that NHL players are the nicest sports figures. I was a waiter as a teen in a resort and I waited on all sports figures and by far they tipped the best, they acted humble and were very nice. Baseball players were the worst.

My friend works for an NHL team in the front office. He loves it. The players often invite him to parties and even family functions.

To games they usually dress is suits or sports coats and slacks.

Many don't make as much as the other pro athletes but they live in upper middle class to upper class homes like the rest of us. Some are very wealthy and live in mansions.

NHL players for the most part are hard working, do a lot for their communities and are great people.

They live a bit better than most, especially since the minimum salary has been raised to $450,000.

They dress very well and most teams have a policy of wearing suits when travelling and out for team functions.

There houses are much better than most. However they spend more time away from there nice houses than most people by playing 41 road games a season (not including playoffs).

It should also be mentioned that most NHL players are very active in supporting local charities.

They are all pretty average guys.

Steve Yzerman is very casual, very family oriented. He has a nice house and an awesome wine cellar. He doesn't like to be recognized when he goes out, he's very quiet.

Chelios on the other hand can party!

Most of them are very professional, but they aren't any different from anyone else. Hockey players are the most down to earth athletes you'll ever meet. Most of them just happen to have a lot of money.

They don't all own their own homes though. Some guys rent houses where the teams are and live elsewhere with their families. The younger guys tend to room with the older guys until they get situated. Some of the single guys have apartments as they don't want to deal with all of the maintenance hassles of a house. But they all buy their dream cars, LOL!

Well, as far as how they dress, you've watched hockey and see pics on TV of them coming into the rink. Teams usually make them wear suits and ties.

Houses? Well, they're millionaires. They mainly live in huge freakin' mansions in the rich parts of town or way the hell in the 'burbs, if they have kids. The single guys often live in condos near the rink. This is speaking from a Vancouver perspective.
