I don't have a problem with it. If they can make the team, why shouldn't they play? Which, to me, is the exact same thing that is expected of any player on any team. I think the only reason that it doesn't happen more is that schools do not have and/or promote open tryouts. Which is a little different than walking up to a coach to ask for one, who may have his biases that are not present when watching a group of people trying out for a team.

I think it's fine...if you can play you can play and besides, everyone reaches their physical peak at different times. A 30-year old player is apt to be a lot wiser than some dude right out of high school.

People attend college at all sorts of different ages, they should be elgible to play if they're good enough.

As a college student, I think it is pretty cool. You are never too old to learn new skills.

As an athlete though? It would be okay too, I guess. You might not be able to keep up with those of us that are young and chipper. (Unless you are in amazing physical shape though.)

It is kind of getting up there for college, but if you're still able to keep up with the 18 year olds, then it's fine

Personally, I think it's weird. Even if the player is really good, and goes pro, they will only last a few seasons before they get so old they have to retire.
