...or have you ever heard of a woman proposing?

Of course there are women that have proposed, but I am not one of them. I am a hopeless romantic and believe that if a man wants to marry you, he will propose. Not saying that there is anything WRONG with proposing to a man, but I'm an old-fashioned girl with old-fashioned values. =)

I believe marriage leads to divorce i.e i dont think its really wor th it anymore kudos to those who do but i just think people get tired of eachother after a time and marriage adds pressure to it esp if you have kids who cares about tradition in bot h instances if marriage is for you then sure you can ask the guy-but in either case (guy ask girl or visa versa) make sure thats what that person wants and i think esp so for a guy because if you have a guy who like to play cavemen and is very controlling in certain respects or the extreme opposite guys afraid of commiting at all it will scare him away a lot because you rushed it and didnt wait for 'man's consent' so i think for all non traditional bullshit it's determined by you r partner and their level of comfort in breaking the chain

On one hand, I don't see anything wrong with it. But on the other, do I really want to marry a guy who can't screw up the courage to propose?

I've heard of it, but I would never do it. That's one of the great things that girls have to look forward to. When the man of your dreams takes you somewhere romantic, gets on one knee and gives you a beautiful ring, then tells you how much he loves you and wants to marry you. Nobody's takin that away from me. LOL

I've heard of it, but I'd like it better if the man proposed. I guess I like all that fantasy stuff. *giggle*

i would wait for the guy, but if it seems that he won't be the first to ask the question because he's nervous or scared, and if i really want to be with him then i probably would propose first...
