First, I highly recommend you read Toni Weschler's book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility". I was amazed at the things I didn't know about my own body. IMO this book should be required reading for all women of child bearing age.

Second, begin charting your basal body temperature. I use www.fertilityfriend.com The basic service is free.

Discharge isn't a dead give away for everyone. Some ladies do not get that much of it or it is difficult to determine which is fertile and which isn't. I know you don't want to hear this, however you particularly will have to simply buy exams. It is probably the most amazing way. Simply do it for one cycle and find out if and when you are ovulating. When you consider that no longer every girl ovulates on CD14. I did not need to buy checks either, but it quite gave me peace of mind to grasp what day I ovulate round. After I discovered after I ovulated I now have sex for three days earlier than ovulation date and 2 afterwards. GL&Babydust

When a woman ovulates she has this white sticky discharge, it is very stretchy, it is called cervical mocus and the day you are most fertile is the day you can stretch that discharge from 1 to 2 inches. So basicly you would have to be checking you cervical mocus every day. However not all women get that discharge, like me, I didn't used to have any CM so I bought an ovulation predictor that was very affordable and it had unlimited uses, try www.fertilefocus.com. Some women do have cramping due to the egg being released from the ovary, some women have sore breasts, it just depends on how your body is and how well you know your body.

Some people can feel it. I feel when I ovulate. Another way is your cervial mucus becomes clear and thin. You should be able to stretch it a couple inches between your first finger and thumb. Also buy a basal thermometer and log your temps for a few months. Once you find that spike in temp on those ovulation days you will know.

Ditto the recommendation of Weschler's book. You'll learn how to monitor your basal body temperature to determine when you're ovulating.

Some women to feel it when it's happening. My sister has a day or so of sharp pain on the side from which she's ovulating. Some women also have spotting that coincides with ovulation. Weschler's book will also teach you how to determine when you're fertile from the quality of your cervical mucous.

You ovulate 15 days before your period. So ask him to wait ( so that he'll be more potent) until about 10-12 days until you get your period, then try everyday for 5-7 days.
