I would say the first is an observation, because it's a statement of fact. The second is an inference, because you're suggesting or implying something that is an opinion and not based on quantitative or measureable fact.

The first, "the temperature is 102F," is an OBSERVATION, because you are observing what reality is.

The second, "You will like this 1959 movie," is an INFERENCE, because you are implying to the other person to infer that you liked the movie and so will he.
