Because there is no such thing as a god. People made him up because they were scared of the unforseen events of life--just like the greeks and romans did, so they could explain things they didn't understand. If there really was one, then wouldn't they be either powerful enough to have everyone believe in them or would they be so evil enough to instill individual thinking in people and then damn them for it? To me, the christian god sounds very evil.

You need GOD for HELP. Man is just plain stupid and can't guide his own footsteps. Good example: Look at G.W BUSH, a loser!
Try not to worship anybody and then try asking for a big ticket item.

because we are his sons and daughters. he doesn't want us to not worship him. yeah, and I don't think god is insecure, no body is more powerful than him, so why would he worry?
