i bought a box of baseball cards at an auction that have many of them stuck together. not by a foreign substance, just by the glossy surfaces of the fronts and backs. would steaming them work, like you would to open an envelope? help!

Proceed with care. The cards likely got damp and that has caused the coating to stick. I would try a short burst in the microwave (25 seconds at most) on some of the cards to see if that works. Steam or a hairdryer are also options. Whatever you do, don't get them too wet or too hot.

When I put my pokemon cards in the microwave, they exploded.

I HAVE FOUND THAT DUSTING THEM WITH TALCUM POWDER OCCASIONALY WORKS AND THE SAME GOES FOR PLAYING CARDS
