the water cycle ensures that water, first and foremost a very important resource, is eternally replenished. think: if there was no water cycle, where would we get our water? eventually, rivers will dry out, and the sea is unfit for human consumption. underground rivers and taps would also be quickly comsumed by the earth's large population. without the water cycle, there would be no water; hence, no life.
