Yes I do. I also unplug the cord from the wall and the phone jack. I do this because even if you have a surge protector, nothing ever protects 100% of the time. I am not going to sacrifice my computer for ignorance when it is something I could have prevented.

Not usually. But if it's a really bad lightning storm, I do. Why should I? Isn't that what a surge protector is all about?
It's just a precaution. Better safe than sorry. I sure don't want to have to buy a new computer right now, and don't want to put an unnecessary claim on my insurance either. So, if it's dumb? OK. Whatever. I still do it.

I live in the Lightning Capital of the World so if the lightning and thunder is REALLY bad I will actually unplug the surge protector so that nothing is even connected.

I don't but I have a surge protector and just am not too worried about it (although I probably should....) My dad does because if the electricty goes out it can fry your computer. He does have a lot more invested in his computer though.

No. I got tired of my PC flunking so I bought myself an APC Back up ups that keeps my PC and monitor up for about an hour unplugged.

No I don't but I have a client who had me unplug her toaster and her teakettle because it had started to thunder. She didn't have me unplug her tv or air conditioner though. She also told me lightning had hit her remote control once. My mother lost her air conditioner one year due to lightning. I just don't worry about it myself.
