I can think of two examples off the top of my head, "SE, LE" I know there are more, does anyone know? Thanks.

depends on the car maker. ss=supersport rs=rally spot my camaro was lt=luxuary touring

SE = sport edition LE = luxury edition GT = grand touring RS = rally sport and so on

SE is Special Edition.

LE is Limited Edition.

They're trim or option levels, different designations have different
options from base to lots of options, what those are depends on the manufacturer.

it denotes what features the car has. Standard Edition, Luxury Edition etc.

they are pretty much like stock, semi-stock, and fully loaded. LE = stock SE = semi stock and XLE = fully loaded

On my Mercedes they are as follows
S=Sports
L=Luxury
K=Kompressor (Supercharged)
There are others that denote the model line
C,L,M,R etc
