No........ that is 'measured temperature'.

We've only been able to accurately measure temperature for the last 100 years or so. Temperatures can be surmised from literature back until the 1600's. Before that it gets very murky.

The famed "hockey stick" diagram has a very steep interpolation based of a very short (perceived) rise in global temperatures. Statistically, that graph really stinks.

Listen, the earth has been around a very long time. It has been much hotter, and much colder than it is today. We are in an inter-glacial period with temperate climates. Never before in the earth's history has there been ice at both poles at the same time. And all of this is before man's intervention.

Man's intervention may have a small effect on the climate, but the earth's convection systems are very hard to influence.

I am MORE concerned with man's poisoning his environment and consuming all his resources, than I am with global climate change. That is if we don't blow ourselves up first.

Haven't you heard, the end of civilization as we know it will end because of global warming, we're all going to bake like an easy bake oven. Unless we get hit by an asteroid and our earth is thrown into an ice age because of all the dirt in the air that blocks the sun, which kills the crops and cools the earth to sub zero temperatures. So, no I'm not scared, I'm going to bake chocolate chip cookies for my kids this afternoon. Have a good day yourself!

When people refer to "on record" I think, they think ALL of time is on record. Please, weather on record may go back 200 years, say 1806. That's a drop in the history bucket of time. Tell me the weather pattens from say, the 1100's to 1300's. Say, from August 15, 1101 to October 22, 1101.Then you can compare some data to the current weather. Stop looking at day to day trends. It will blow you mind like a Stock Day Trader trying to find trends by the minute. Earth is a big dude. It's got a plan and pace covering millions of years. Live your 80 to 100 years, do what you think is best. And stop worrying. Life is (really is) too short.

Not scared at all, we may contribute to global warming, but the earths climate also changes in cycles, hence the ice ages. So even if we do stem the emission of greenhouse gasses, the climate is still going to change and we can't do anything about it except adapt.

No, because we have only been keeping track of the weather for a few hundred years...and only the last 100 could be considered "accurate".
