1) If I use my friends router w/ my laptop, does my IP address change?

2) If I use my friends router and my IP address is traced for some reason, does my IP address show the ISP I use at my house or the ISP I am using at my friends house?

3) If my computer is destroyed (lemon law), can my IP address still be traced?

1. Yes. It will be traced to his router.
2. Friend's house.
3. Yes. It is logged by ARIN in the ISPs records.

2. It would show the IP address used at your friends house.

3. I don't think your IP address will be traced if your computer is destroyed

When you are at a different location your IP address that web pages see is completly different. So if you are at a friends house and are doing somethings that you should not be doing, The ipaddress will be traced to that persons Internet Service Provider which can lead back to that persons house. How if you go home later on and connect to your internet your Ip address will be different.

1.) Yes, your IP will be the IP of the router... so it will be your friend's internect connection's IP.

2.) It will show your Friend's ISP.

3.) Yes, due to IP Logging.

2) It will show your friends IP addres, so it will be traced to his house.

The IP address is the finger print of your personal computer (including Laptops). Each one has its own IP address so that it can traceable in case of felony or any other abuse.
