My question is has anyone had 2 negitive HPT test than found out through blood test they were pergnant. (mind you one of the urine PT was in the doctors office)
Just asking. And can you still be pregnant if a blood is negitive?
I'm going to schedual a blood test for later this week. 2 weeks late.

when i was pregnant with my first child, i KNEW i was pregnant, but all the hpt's, dr. office urine test and even the first blood test came back negative. my second blood test (which my doctor was VERY reluctant to give) came back positive, and after a physical exam and such, i was already 3 months pregnant. it was very welcoming news because i KNEW i was pregnant and it was a very, very wanted pregnancy!!

There is a higher chance of a false-negative for the urine tests just because a lot of people take them too soon, but not a false-positive except in very rare circumstances. This means if it is positive you are pregnant, if it is negative, you may be pregnant, just not enough for it to show. It doesn't take a lot of the hormone to show up, though.
The blood test doesn't show positive until 3-4 weeks after conception. If you take a blood test before that, you could still be pregnant, just not far-along enough for the hormone to show up. If you are two weeks late, it is probably soon enough to start taking a test if you think you may be pregnant.

I had 4 negative home pregnancy tests-- and one of the urine tests was done in a doctors office. But the blood test will show you without a doubt no matter how many negatives the urine gives you. Good luck!
p.s make sure you see your own labs also becuase a nurse told me mine were negative with the blood when I asked her to faz me the results- she was wrong and I was pregnant- needless to say I have a different doctor for my pregnancy now.

If the serum (blood) test is positive, then you are pregnant - no doubt about it. Urine tests are less reliable and can produce false results. The likelihood of a false result with a serum test is extremely slim.

i took urine test all the way up to 7 months and they were negative but when i did a blood test it was positive

A negative blood test means your not preggo. I know it cant be easy wanting a baby so bad and then finding out your not. Just try not to get to stressed out about it and just have sex liek normal, forcing it will most likely put your body out of wack. Just chart your ovulation and when the window comes do it like rabbits :) Good luck!

urine test can be false negative ..happens a lot ..but blood test are definite ... and I have had a false urine test (only one though) and a positive blood test with my first daughter

a negative blood test means not pregnant. blood shows positive first. get the blod test and see your doctor
