If it "looks bad" you need to take him to the doctor. For example, brown recluse bites cause the tissue to die and start to look red then bruised and spread.

That is not something you really let go. Head to the doc. Not the ER, though, just take him in tomorrow if it's too late today.

Spider bites can be bad - just depends on the spider. If it was a recluse that is very common on the east coast - you could have some serious trouble..my brother was in the hospital for a very long time getting treated with a spider bite ...please don't guess...take your son to the hospital to be sure - or at least to see your physician. Did you see the spider? That will help much for them to determine how to treat him. Good luck!

Where was he bitten? If it is on the leg it might not be so bad but if it is on the chest or upper body, he could die! You better take him to a doctor right away! My sister was bitten by a brown recluse when she was little and luckily it was on the lower leg and my dad is a doctor. She almost had to go to the hospital and had to take medicine for a very long time and the bite grew to be at least two inches in diameter! Bites can be extremely serious and I can't urge you enough to seek professional help immediately.
