I hated my job so I quit and now I'm barely making enough to pay my bills at my new job, I'm sick of it! I've heard of working at home jobs but I just feel like I'm gonna get caught in a scam...especially the ones where you have to pay first. Does anyone know of any legitimate work at home jobs?

Take a look at how I do my psychic business from home.

Then see if you can fit something similar around your own area of expertise. (About $300 will get you started.)

Then all you need is a passion, some persistence, and you know that old fashioned word - w.o.r.k. http://www.psychic-junkie.com/are-you-psychic.html

It depends on whether you are looking at a work from home "job" or a work from home "business". I have yet to see a work from home job that is an income earner. Maybe a wee bit of earnings, but not much more than that. I have a home business that is with a product people are really looking for, especially the baby boomers. I have no trouble at all marketing it in many ways. I use the telephone, the computer, mail-outs and face to face. When I found the method I was finding the most success with, I ran with it. I have all the tax breaks for my home and business and earn more than I ever made in the corporate world. I get all the training and mentoring I need and now help others do the same. This business is a purchase, so it will cost a little under $200 to get started, but I earned my money back very quickly and show others how to do the same. I put anywhere between 1 and 3 hrs a day into it, and cannot believe how fast it is growing....and building residual income.

I started my own consulting business from home. I did not buy into someone else's business. I used my own expertise as the basis for my consulting work. Most of those offers for "work from home" jobs or businesses are a scam. They are relying on your gullibility and desperation to pull you in.

What are you an expert in? Is there something you do that is considered a skill? Do you sew? Write? Teach? Organize events?

Most people have a skill that is uncommon enough that it could, with some marketing and word-of-mouth, become an at-home business. However, if you can't afford to sink all of your time into the business (because you don't have savings enough to pay the bills while you quit and go at it full-time) you may find that its' best to start off part-time and work into a client list or referral list that is big enough to keep you afloat without it.

I'm sorry if it's not much help but it's what I did and I've been fairly successful at it.

There are many opportunities for ppl to work online nowadays and earn some extra money, by making deir own websites, thru ebay, survey opportunities, proofreading and translation, Freelance writing, Data Entry and so on..

However, there are many scams operating on the net and one needs to be careful and not get scammed!
I am very wary of online job/survey stuff now, having been duped twice,

I suggest u check out the legitimacy of the job/survey u r joining,

Some widely used resources for checking companies are the Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.org) and the national fraud center (www.fraud.org).

Before joining anything,You can find more detailed information about a company and check whether its a scam or not, at

You might want to consider becoming a Virtual Assistant. In fact, there is a free 30-minute teleseminar on August 31, 2006 at 8:30 pm EST (regular long distance charges may apply if you don't have unlimited long distance for calls placed to the United States, but there is no charge for the teleseminar itself).

A Virtual Assistant provides administrative support to other entrepreneurs and small businesses. Since you own your own business, you know you are working for someone reputable (yourself!).

The seminar is called "Virtual Assistant Startup Strategies". There is no catch, no fine print, nothing you must buy-
just some helpful insight about becoming a Virtual Assistant from two established Virtual Assistants.

You can get information on how to register for free at the link below.

First, I am an accountant in corporate compliance at a health care provider so I am not trying to sell you anything. But, really you need to figure out if you just want to work a normal job but from home or if you want something to do in your spare time to make more money. I know plenty of people who do their jobs at home but they still have to have skill in that area and still have to work hard.

I know that we employ certified professional medical billing coders who make approximately $15-$30/hr taking medical charts home, formulateing the final bills and sending them back. They require a professional certification and have to come into the office about 8 hours a week. They still have a boss though and do get paid by the hour or the number of charts coded. I think that some of the "work from home" businesses advertised on tv are in this line of work.

I know tax acountants who work from home but all of them are CPAs and work many hours during tax season.

My brother in law is a massage therapist and he works from his home as well as going to clients homes, businesses and at a gym. He makes as much as $60/hr but he still works very hard, has no health benefits and had to get and maintain his certification.
Be wary of anyone asking you to pay first before giving you the money first.
Do some research.

BurnLounge--have your own personalized online music store. Invite family, friends or anyone to browse, sample and buy music. I have a store at http://burnlounge.com/mlbliss and I enjoy doing this!!

BurnLounge is a fantastic new deal on the internet! They just started in November 2005 and have grown quite rapidly since. They have music sites now, but will be adding ringtones, movies, DVDs, video games, concert tickets, audio books and other things later.

They also allow new (or old) musicians the opportunity to distribute their music with them and they offer people the opportunity to have their own online music stores. BurnLounge is contracted with the top 4 music marketing labels, which makes everything they have online LEGAL to download.

If you would like more information, please feel free to send me an email and I will do what I can to help you (tonja_myers@yahoo.com or tlm16365@hughes.net).

My site is http://burnlounge.com/mlbliss and you can also research them at http://corp.burnlounge.com and http://help.burnlounge.com
