ok, as a rule I am a fan of neither- always hated prince. However, he has a voice and guitar skills, where as michael got lucky on the commercialism aspect. If you were to ask them to do a concert now, I would say Prince hands down because talent does not dissipate- an image does and all michael was was an image for the 80's. Dude, the man was able to change his name to a symbol so I would say prince ahs the power!!

Wow. This is a great question! To me, if we were just talkin' about the US, then Prince rules currently. Overseas, however, Michael rules, hands down! So overall, Michael rules. I mean I love them both to death, but Michael did Thriller, which is the best selling album of all time. Michael's other albums are extraordinary as well. Prince has extraordinary albums, too, but Michael's music is more mainstream. One final thing, Michael is an overall performer, known for his singing and incredible dancing.

in the 80's definitely michael based on his popularity, NOW....Prince based on michaels unpopularity.
I've always liked prince. Even when he wasnt at the top of the charts I've got to respect an artist who rights his own lyrics, music, and can play almost EVERY INSTRUMENT known.
Michael.....a great entertainer.

Musically Michael is a genuis as well as Prince. Now skip to their personal lives Michael has tarnished his name and his last albums sales suffered because of that. Prince started off wild and promiscous but he has settled down and came back with a vengeance. It's close but I gotta go with Prince.
