You probably did not break it. Your lower leg would be useless if you had. It was just swelling from trauma and bruising.

RE:
Is my shin broken?
This past Saturday I was driving a go-cart and it flipped over throwing my friend and I airborn. When we walked back to the house I noticed a lump on my leg the size of a baseball. Although it did not hurt terribly bad at the time and the swelling has gone down somewhat, I am sitting here wondering...

Leg bones are pretty hard to break. However, it does sound fairly significant. I had over 600 pounds fall on the back of my lower leg and it only left a significant bruise like yours and I couldn't walk hardly at all for a month. I had to take some serious pain killers, but it wasn't remotely broken. It took a year to really heal. Tough to tell, though.
If you do go to the doc, visit an actual doctor's office and they will send you for xrays. It will be cheaper than Urgent Care or certainly the Emergency Room.

Yes, you can definitely break a bone and still walk. It happened to my daughter. She and her husband were doing repairs to their kitchen and she fell (she'd been standing on a table - not sensible). They figured her leg was bruised and hurting, but she could walk so they thought it would get better. It was two days later when she woke up in the wee hours of the morning in quite a bit of pain and they went to emergency and she had a fracture of her lower leg. She had a cast for several weeks.
Moral of the story is - go get your leg checked. It could quite easily be broken and need a cast. Good luck with it. I hope it all turns out well.

Sounds like a severe sprain or slight fracture. But, yes, you can walk on a broken bone. There are a LOT of bones in the foot. Get it checked.

Well it may or may not be broken (yes you can have a break and still be able to walk on it)...I wouldn't mess around and play a guessing game...you need to get an x-ray and find out for sure...and pronto!

There is a condition called compartment syndrome that can cause the nerves in the front of the leg to become compressed by swelling. If you have any numbness, THIS IS AN EMERGENCY. Gete it checked
