Just about any of the "juvenile" books by Andre Norton. You might really like that writers Witch World series. Her version of the Beast Master if also excellent, even if you reread it as, well and older person. (The movie beast master is absolutely nothing like the book even though it claims to be based on it. The movie is fantasy and the book is science fiction) Issac Asimov also had a number of really good books aimed at teens. They all had the title "Lucky Starr and the....." . Your best bet may be to go to a local library and just wander down the shelves full of adventure!
