in most states its required to pass the written and the drivng test in order to obtain a liscence

yes...after drivers ed you take the written part to be able to get a permit..when you get your permit you need to take three classes or supervised driving sessions with a person who worked at the place where you took drivers ed...after the three sessions, and after so many hours of driving with an adult 25 or older you go back to the dmv and take a driving test to get you license...well this is how it is in california...hope that helps...good luck

In order to get your restrictive license, you have to take the written exam.
(You have to have a restrictive license before you can get your non-restrictive one and drive on your own.)
After you pass the written exam, you will be given a restrictive license. A month or so later, you can take your driving test to get your non-restrictive license.

You should have taken the written in Your class so you shouldn't have to take it at the DMV.
