When I was a teenager I used to read a lot, fiction, drama, romance, what ever I could lay my hands on. as I grew older, I totally lost it now.

I don't know why, because you didn't say how old you are, or what you might be going through that would prevent you from reading. It could be any number of things, for example, you spend most of your free time going out with friends, you work too hard, you have to study so much you don't feel like reading for leisure, you spend too much time on the internet or watching tv, you're depressed, you're in a relationship that sucks up all your energy, or you just have other interests and don't feel like reading that much...? I don't know! If it bothers you, just go to the library and find a good book you can get into!

I always say that "you just haven't found the right book yet." Pick up an old favorite and reread it. It might trigger your love of reading again and remind you of what you liked.
Possibly you are tired in the evenings after working all day. Think of reading as a time to recharge your batteries. Find a quiet space and bring some nibbles to enjoy while you read. Make it a retreat for yourself.

I'm the same way. In my case, I find it hard to concentrate on things like books because I have a million things running through my head. I can watch tv because that is pretty mindless.
I suffered/(sort of still do) from depression and that made it hard for me to focus.
If you are really stressed or busy you may not read as much. And also, your interests may change. Perhaps now you'd prefer to paint or play an instrument instead of reading a novel.

I agree with the answer of burn out. I used to be the same way. I read constantly. It seems actually I go through spurts...maybe you just haven't found a book that really strikes your interest. That's easy to have happen. So many books are so formula written, reading one is like reading any other...ho hum.... Try picking up an oldie but goodie...

Maybe your not reading the right types of books now to grip your excitement. Find books/hobby books that your interested in. Just keep trying something different until you find something you really like.
I can only read when everything around me is quiet and peaceful, I find that I concentrate better and enjoy my reading when my mind isn't full of things. Try enjoying hot tea, or a hot drink, or even music when reading.

You need to find a really good author that can grab your attention. I stopped reading for a tiny bit when I was busy with school and tutoring but picked it up quickly when a friend recommended I read a new author. Or perhaps you are done reading :(

I'm sorry.... I don't understand. I'm checking to see if those words can be used to form a statement like that. What's wrong?
Maybe you need inspiration. What do you do instead now? What are your interests? Maybe reading something along the lines of what's replaced that world of fantasy or intellectual pursuit will help.

Maybe you lost interest in reading, because as you grow older, you don't have as much free time as you used to when you were a teenager.

Nothing is wrong with you ... you're just in a different phase of life now. However, from time to time, pick up a book to see if you're phase changed back.

Maybe you're spending too much time on the computer. With everything we read on the computer, it'll make a book boring.
