Whether you get hurt from falling or not has a lot more to do with what you hit when you fall and how tough you are to begin with.

There are elderly people who have died from a fall when just walking around, and I don't think any of us would do well if we fell onto a bed of nails or something! Water has a really high surface tension, so past a certain height falling into water is a lot like hitting concrete, unless you enter it EXACTLY right.

Likewise, there are people who have survived falls of thousands of feet relatively unharmed (by landing in soft snow), and we see stunt men fall six stories all the time, as long as they have nets or air cushions below them!

So don't worry about the 6-story building... worry about what's on the ground when you get there. Remember - it's not the fall the kills you, it's the sudden stop at the end!

yes, but perhaps you need to ask this a different way.. can a person survive a fall from a 6 story building.

Yes, and that just depends on what they happen to fall on and what state the find themselves in.

I actually had a class mate some years back (a girl about 110 lbs) fall from the fifth story of a Daytona Beach motel after drinking a great deal. She landed in bushes and doesn't remember much of the fall, broke her arm. that was it. Otherwise walked away.

Yes. Of course, it's possible to die by falling from a 1-story building...

yes, you could die from a fall from a few feet if you land on your head or you could break your neck, you would most likely die from a 6 story building. If not you would be majorly messed up.

this is another genius question, almost certainly they would die unless it was on a movie, or some kind of set up. i know of a person dying from tripping on there own 2 feet on the ground floor cause they hit their head and it caused their brain to bleed and then that was it! brain went to mush! so yeah it is almost inevitable that they would die from a 6 story drop!

it depends how heavy they are, how fast they are falling and how soft is the ground below them and are they in good enough condition to fall that far down and recover there are some VARIABLES that you can control and some you cant. so i am really not sure

that is kind of asking if a tree falls in a forest and there is no one around to hear it does it make a sound and my answer to that is yes because it still makes a sound but no one is there to notice it sorry for getting all into that but i had to... never mind

I would think that your chances of survival would go down with each floor. So, chances are you'd either die or be REALLY hurt if you fell from a 6th story.
