I love them . I have been penpal with one for 43 years and we only met last year when I went over to the US. We travelled around sight seeing and found I all the Americans very very friendly and sincere.

Well being a Canadian/ American living in the UK you get a whole different perspective on yanks.
I have lived all over the US from Alaska to Virginia and all points in between there are some darn nice folks where ever you go but the friendliest, are in North Texas, Alaska, Oregon, and west Virginia.
Since people really make a place the worst places are NYC new yorkers just don't make you feel welcome, Florida people tend to be full of them self like my cousins, I grew up in California and you tend not to look people in the eye for fear the wrong person may take the wrong way.
Strange how an imaginary line on a map changes people you cross the border into Oregon and folks are just laid back and friendly.
But Canadians are still friendlier people and Western Canada is the best, even in a big city like Vancouver even the cops are friendly and don't tend to treat people with suspicion.
Americans biggest draw back is most have never left the US and don't really know how to relate to the rest of the world.
Hey we all live on Earth it's like one big country and we should all start treating it that way.

200% better than British.
1. Americans are generally fun to be around whereas the British are plain and boring.
2. Americans are genuine and will speak their mind any day any time, but the British pretend an awful lot!
3. Americans are more handsome and beautiful both men and women, the British are mostly ugly. But having said that, there are the exceptional ones.
4. Americans are way ahead of Britain where technology, entertainment, education, romance, etc is concerned.
5. Americans are proactive.
6. Americans love bling and flashy, expensive things. The society there encourages it.
7. Americans have a business society that promotes profit and supports small businesses. Their laws are also flexible to ensure you can strive to also break through business-wise. But in Britain, when you try to start something, the tax system and all will finish you even before you started.
8. Maybe I mentioned it earlier, life in America is far far better, more sensible, luxurious and fun especially in California where the sun's up.

From a british point of view americans seem very over the top alot of the time. Their commitment to their country is drilled into them from birth. I't supposed to be a free country, but it's definatly very much controlled through propaganda.

Lived in the US all my life, well travelled, been to the UK, France, Germany, Canada, and Mexico.

I only prefer the United States because well, I'm biased and I've lived here all my life, but just like any country we have our really nice and really awful people.

I pretty much like Americans, except the barbie imitation valley girls (they're seriously annoying!) But the rest I really like, I even married one!
