Like most everything else in your body your lungs are capable of self-cleaning given a chance to do so. While a long time smoker will never have clean lungs time away from smoking will show positive results in cleaner lungs.

There are some foods that are very beneficial to smokers. Smoking is bad for you and you should quit but if you're not going to quit you should at least eat foods that will cleanse your lungs.

I have included a video in the source that lists 10 foods EVERY smoker should include in their diet.

yep but it takes time for your body to heal itself... if you're really concerned invest in a really good aircleaner for your home, especially your bedroom and possibly one for work if it's practical.

you might also consider yoga or pilates which emphasize deep healing breathing techniques utilizing the full range of your lung capacity.

they do regenerate themselves but it takes about 7 years.

if there is severe infection, they can do thoracentesis/pleurodesis.... where
they introduce high dose of antibiotics......
