It will cut back significantly depending on how they are compressed. The 30 GB can store 15,000 songs or 150 hours of properly compressed video or a combination of what you like. Try and look at how big the files are to see how much they will take. It's only an issue if they don't leave enough space for all your songs.

It's all stored in the same place, so yes it will. It's still a lot of stuff, and you couldn't watch the tiny screen for that long anyway.
