No periods when you are pregnant. Maybe some light spotting. If you have heavy bleeding see your doc right away!!

When a female is pregnant she really shouldn't get a period. Usually there is spotting or implantation bleeding that is pretty light and should be either brown or a pinkish color. An actual period is the shedding of the lining of the uterus because there is no baby developing so if a female is heavily bleeding then something could be seriously wrong or she may be experiencing a miscarriage. Any bleeding heavier than spotting should be examined by a doctor.

Ok first of all.
The people who are telling you that you cant get a period when pregnant are wrong.
I was pregnant and had a period also I took Child Development.
When pregnant, you can have a period, but it should be very short and not so heavy.
If so, you'll need to check up on a doctor cause that could be a bad sign, maybe even the cells are dead which means miscarriage.

Generally, a pregnant woman does not have a period. There are instances when there is some bleeding or spotting. Occasionally a woman will have regular or light periods throughout her pregnancy. If a pregnant woman is bleeding heavily, it is cause for alarm and she should call her doctor and go to the hospital.

If you have a really heavy period,i would really get to a doctor. Then again,if you have a period at all,i would get to a doctor just in case.If it is a period, then you could be miscarrying.Generally, women dont have periods when they are pregnant.Although,it isnt unheard of for women to have periods when they are pregnant.Every woman is different, and women have been known to have continue getting their periods while pregnant and have a perfectly healthy baby as well as them being perfectly healthy themselves. You cannot judge by what other woman say, because each individual is exactly that, they are different.Just for your peace of mind i would go to your obgyn to make sure everything is ok.Just remember not to panic, every woman is different and it isnt uncommon for women to get their periods while pregnant.Good luck hun.

You shouldn't actually have a period when you are pregnant. The whole purpose of the period is to get rid of the lining of the uterus because it wasn't needed to create a baby. If you are pregnant, the lining is needed, therefore, no period.

With any bleeding, contact your doctor immediatly after you notice it. Many doctors are not concerned with spotting if everything else is going fine. Make sure you find out from your doctor at what point he wants to be notified in the future of changes in bleeding. Early in pregnancy, spotting can be common, especially brown (old) spotting as a result of implantation.
