G'day Jackie B.

Thank you for the question.

The song London Bridge is by Fergie aka Stacy Ferguson of the Black Eyed Peas. It has become a huge hit in the US but not here in Australia or elsewhere in the world. I was looking forward to hearing it as I like the Black Eyed Peas stuff. I am surprised that it hasn't been played here much as the Black Eyed Peas have probably had as much chart success here as anywhere in the world. It is her first track released from the Duchess solo album.

It had the second highest jump on the Hot 100 ever, from number 84 to number five. By its third week on the Hot 100 it jumped from number five to number one due to high download numbers and a major increase in airplay. Apparently, it will be released on 11 September 2006 in the U.K. It has been number one in the US for three weeks.

It was produced by Polow the Don, who produced Pussycat Dolls' "Buttons" with lyrics by Sean Garrett, who helped write "Yeah!" by Usher. Fergie filmed the music video for this song at the Woolwich Army Barracks in London. This song was released to radio on July 13, 2006, however it was leaked on internet June 29, 2006. The music video premiered on Total Request Live on July 18, 2006 and peaked on TRLs countdown at number five. The song was released on iTunes on July 25, 2006. After only five days on iTunes it reached number one.

It is interesting to note that the bridge featured on the cover of the single is not in fact London Bridge but Tower Bridge. This is presumably because the actual current London Bridge is of no particular architectural significance, and consequently most Americans confuse the two[citation needed]. This mistake is also made in the ending of the video for the song (British audiences have noted this after her video recently debuted in the UK ). Whilst it would be easy to dismiss this is a mistake, it is more than likely that the use of Tower Bridge was intentional - as American audiences have come to associate it as London Bridge.

On most stations, a radio edit changes the subtitle (normally "Oh ****!") to "Oh Snap!" (to prevent bleeping). This edit was also used in the music video.

Fergie performed the song during the second season finale of So You Think You Can Dance. It was also used in the series for a top 8 hip-hop routine performed by Donyelle Jones and Travis Wall.

Of course, there is also the traditional kid's song London Bridge is Falling Down but I assume you don't mean that.

I have attached some sources for your reference.

Regards

You mean the sound Fergie is singing? I mean catchy song, but she could of dine much better, why do a remix of a song that we use to sing when we were kids. I think she is trying get attention since the band split up.
