Depends upon the amount of water which you wish to bring to a boil and the power of the microwave oven. Under "normal" circumstances 1 cup of water should come to a boil within 1-1/2 minutes.

You must be very careful using a microwave oven to boil water. You may possibly get it too hot. If this occurs, the water could "explode" when you break the surface tension of the water, causing burns and scalds. Always put something, like a stick, in the cup if you are going to boil water.

That depends on the volume of water, the depth of the container (because for it to boil, the bubbles have to rise to the surface and burst), and the power of the microwave (the amount of watts it operates at).
