should i wear a skirt or shorts on the first day of school?

Honey, this depends on so many different factors. What do you want to say about yourself, on the first impression you will make to many? Long skirt with flirty blouse says "cheerful". Keep colors light on top. Short skirt says "I want attention". Some teachers will automatically form a first impression with this outfit.Wearing shorts with a tee shirt says "comfort is me".Many teachers will consider you a "slacker" with this outfit. Best to wear a really decent shirt with shorts, as you will look more ready to "pay attention to detail". As I have tried to explain, it really all about you! Also, ask your friends what they're wearing. This works if ever in doubt.

Dont get too fancy on the first day...cuz then people will expect you to always look that good... but u also wanna make a good first impression and u wann try and look better than the other girls... so i would go with the shorts... and the first day of school is too hectic for a skirt... try like the 4th day or something... also how often do u wear skirts if u only wear it the first day than people would know ur fake...

I'd go for the shorts. The day is going to be stressful enough. When you drop your books or something happens, you don't wanna bend over and reveal yourself.
If it were me, I'd save the skirt for when I knew what guys were in my classes too, haha! You may be in a class with a weirdo who will be checking you out just cuz of that skirt.

A skirt would be cute, not too short though.
Or the new dressy shorts with some cute shoes! That would look great! Be sure to add funky jewlery & a cute top!

Cute pencil skirt. If you wear shorts make sure to wear the new trouser style burmuda ones with a cute polo or button down :)

If I were you I would wear really cute shorts. If the skirt is a jean skirt and it is kinda short were that.
