Depends on the subject. And on the knowledge of the answerer.

Sometimes I dont answer a question because either I dont think I know the answer or am not qualified to do so.

perhaps, if you see someone answer a lot with what you think might be intelligent answers - click the contact button and ask them personally

Because people with little to say can generally come up with something corny or trite in response to a stupid question but lose ground when they have to think hard about something. Sorry if that sounds harsh but I believe that it is simply true. This site should be a great exchange of ideas and information ..... I have had some great answers to things, many from peoples' hearts, but I suspect that is from the minority that like to do that. Unfortunately, the rest of the audience leaves a lot to be desired !

Stupid attract bored people who respond with stupid answers. And there are many of us who are just bored.

They also help people who are seeking points; they can answer as they want without getting reported.

People who really need answers do get fewer answers but the quality of the answers is better; they are usually from people who think they can help or people who have been in similar situations and share their experience.

There's also a third category of questions, those which are polemical; by nature they get many answers, and of both sorts too.

Depending on your question, or even the way you phrase your question, and the time you post it, you attract different people. (A well known fact in market research).

Because sometimes the stupid ones are the most controversial. Other than that, people would rather answer a stupid question for a quick 2 points than spend time on harder questions.

maybe because the stupid questions are easier to answer?

plus the stupid questions tend to be made to provoke a nibble from people who will be indignant or else may enjoy an argument.

maybe the stupid questions invite fun answers and maybe are fun questions not stupid ones.

personally, am pleasantly surprised that so many people know what maslow's hierarchy of need is all about (look at my questions).

must run, have fun ;o)

it's cause the people that really need answers get the real McCoy, and those that ask stupid questions do that for the purpose of helping other people get points.

because people aren't intelligent enough to answer the intelligent questions. They don't care about helping people they only want to get more points for themselves by talking rubbish

I don't know why but this keeps happening. Perhaps you can look at my questions and see if you have any REAL answers and I will do the same with yours.

because most people actually don't know what they are talking about. They just post to make themselves feel smarter than the questioner.
