In a show on MTV2 Gary Lightbody said that his father once told him "You chasing after women is like a dog chasing after cars, if you ever caught up with one you wouldn't know what to do with it." He said the song was wrote to prove his dad wrong. I think he's trying to say, 'look I did catch up with one, and now that I have we're just going to lie down and watch the world go by'
