No, as a former NYY Employee, I can promise you that the Yankees will NEVER wear anything but Navy hats for as long as there is a STEINBRENNER in the front office.
He won't even allow the pink or yellow versions of the NYY hats to be sold in his store in Tampa, FL (spring training site).
They did look at little black, but I promise you they were Navy blue.

See the New York Yankees where a really dark, dark blue to where it might seem that there wearing black hats but they are not

Maybe your color t.v. was on the fritz. I saw the Yanks barely hold on to an 11-8 victory with their dark navy blue caps with a white n and y interlocking on the front. White shirts and pants with blue pinstripes and dark navy blue numbers on the back, no name of course! With an interlocking navy blue n and a y on the left chest area. That's Michael Kays' description during the beginning of every Yankee tele-cast!

no they werent....and it wasnt turn back the clock day either but even if it was their hats would be white i think

they were navy, when i was a little kid i thought their jerseys were black. Their jersey can deceive the eyes somtimes.
