I am 8 months pregnant and I just found a solid black kitty that is a bob tail it is so cute and innocent. But i wonder if it is safe to keep him since i am pregnant? Is it heathly to be around kittens?

What if i have my fiance clean the litter pan and i put it in the far room in the house that i never go in?

As long as you wash your hands after handeling the cat and making sure the you DO NOT chang the cat litter. Someone else in the household needs to take care of that chore.

Ever had a cat before? If you have chances are you've already built up an immunity to the bacteria that cats carry. (Can't recall the name of it right now.) If not, put kitty's litter box somewhere that you won't come into contact with it on a daily basis and have your fiance clean it. Make sure you wash your hands immediately after petting or playing with kitty to help reduce the exposure to the bacteria. Other than that, enjoy your new pet!!

Have your fiance clean the litter box and take kitty to the vet for a complete check-up.

It's fine to be around kittens. The only concern with being pregnant is cat feces. It's a common myth that cat litter is harmful to pregnant women, but in reality, it's only the feces. So just have your fiance change the litter box, and you can play with that little guy all you want. :o)

Congratulations on a new kitten, and your baby!

Just have your guy clean the box. Wash your hands after playing with the little guy. It's perfectly safe after that.
