Katie - short for Katherine - meaning:
From the Greek name Αικατερινη (Aikaterine). The etymology is debated: it could derive from the earlier Greek name ‘Εκατερινη (Hekaterine), which came from ‘εκατερος (Hekateros) "each of the two"; it could derive from the name of the goddess HECATE; it could be related to Greek αικια (aikia) "torture"; or it could be from a Coptic name meaning "my consecration of your name". The Romans associated it with Greek καθαρος (katharos) "pure" and changed their spelling from Katerina to Katharina to reflect this. The name belonged to a 4th-century saint and martyr from Alexandria who was tortured on the famous Catherine wheel. Another saint by this name was Catherine of Siena, a 14th-century mystic. This name was also borne by two empresses of Russia, including Catherine the Great, and by three of Henry VIII's wives.

Although the name Katie creates the urge to be reliable and responsible, we emphasize that it causes a blunt expression that alienates others.
This name, when combined with the last name, can frustrate happiness, contentment, and success, as well as cause health weaknesses through worry, mental tension, and tension or accidents to the head.
Your name of Katie has created a practical, responsible, stable nature, and you desire to direct the efforts of others rather than to take order or ask permission.
You have a determined, self-reliant, capable nature and resent any interference, although in your desire to help you are inclined to become involved in the lives and decisions of other people.
You like to make your own decisions and to be the master of your domain.
You feel a limitation in your own expression when it is necessary to reach another through tact and understanding.

I love the name Katie... It is a short form of my daughter's name. I always hated my own name growing up, too. Your name doesn't define who you are, you define who you are. Who you are defines what other people think of or feel when they hear your name. Be the person that is true to yourself and true to your heart and no doubt others will always smile when you are mentioned or they think of you. Have a lovely day, Katie!!!

Not bad, but young. Never grows up. How about Katherine and Katie as a nick name. I think Katherine is beautiful.
