Hello, you need to go to the program or folder and send a fresh icon to your desktop.

Right-click START button (lower left on monitor)
Left-click EXPLORE
In the Explore window left pane scroll down to the folder...look in PROGRAMS folder > find your folder or program >
Right click on that folder or program > in sub menu select SEND TO > select Shortcut to Desktop

You're finished

Try using system restore, click start, all programs, accessories, system tools and system restore. Choose a restore point going back to a date before you deleted the icon.

Go to the recycling bin, right click on the icon with and click "restore"....
that should do it! Good Luck!

deleted icons will go in the recycle bin
go to recycle bin
locate icon
right-click it and click restore

you go your start menu and find that object right click and push send to.. and then send it to your desktop i had the same problem

hit start, then all programs, find the program, then right click it and hit create shortcut to desktop

go to your recycle bin, click on it and restore it.
